The best exhibition I have seen in Brighton Museum for a long while. The expertise in porcelain, metal, textiles is top quality and many of the exhibits are witty. They all deal with a number of today’s issues: homelessness, waste, recycling, sexual taboos … you will admire the art while arguing whether you agree or not. I did not like the idea of unpicking an old crossstitch, done with such care by the embroiderer many years ago so as to give a contemporary meaning .. the artist could have done his own embroidery and exhibited it alongside the old. Strange to say, my favourites were the shiny open sardine can and the crushed can jug. What were yours?
